For those of you who care (the one person out there!), I am doing well.

I am very happily married, she didn't run away and my cold feet didn't get the best of me. I am still loving juicy fruit, and keep a pack on me at all times.

As to my wife, we've been married nearly 11 months, time really does fly. She talks every day about kids, kids and more kids. Scary.

Yeah, I really am getting old!

Time Ticks On...

Time is drawing nearer.

Who's idea was it to get married? Oh yes, it was mine. Cold feet, I thought it really wouldn't affect me much, but as each day passes, my nervousness increases.

Only two months remain, just two months left of being free. I have never been married before and I have no clue how it will really feel until I am actually married. A few years ago I thought I'd never find the right girl for me, I was wrong to say the least.

I am just ranting now though, too much stuff going on in my life at the moment. Just two months, wow.

Happy New Year 2007

I haven't really had the time to update this recently, hopefully this changes soon. Anyhow let me finish off the details about my engagement. Now where was I...

So, she was just sitting there, looking beautiful with the orange glow of the sunset just amplifying her beauty. My heart was racing more then you can imagine, I thought it would be a bit easier on the nerves, nope, not in the least.

She turned and looked at me, and asked, 'Why are you staring at me?'. Hmmm, I couldn't think of any reason, other then what I had brought her out there in the first place. I very calmly said, 'There is something I want to ask you...'

The sun was near the horizon, everything had lined up perfectly for me. I had always debated on the 'do I want to be down on one knee' when I asked this question. Well, no, I was not. I sure wasn't going to stand up from sitting on a blanket, to being on one knee, it seemed a bit tacky at the time.

I reached deep into my pocket, pulled out the white velvet box with the engagment ring that I've spent many hours at the park working on paying off. She instantly had a huge surprised look on her face (in a good way, of course). I said to her, as sweet as I possibly could '[MS Juicy Fruiter] will you be my wife?'. Her eyes were already tearing up, she just whispered 'Yes', I have never seen her so happy, it was a huge load off my chest. I put the ring on her finger, she then gave me a big hug and a kiss and stared at her ring.

We watched the sun set and ate the food I prepared (it was good!). That pretty much wraps up how we got engaged.

March 25 2007 is our wedding date, she has been going nuts with wedding stuff for months now, I just nod and say, 'that looks nice'.

We've been together for years, heres to the rest of them.

My Engagement Part 1

Well, since I slacked on posting here to my beloved blog, I think some catch up is in order.

So it's time to catch up a bit!

I am currently engaged, I love her more then I care to admit, but this is pretty much anonymous, so here I can proclaim:

(soon to be)
Mrs. Juicy Fruiter I LOVE YOU!

So, how exactly did I turn her from being my girlfriend of (too) many years, to my bride-to-be you ask?

I did it in the park.

Yes, I know it sounds kind of tacky, especially since I spend so much time in the park, but in my mind, there was no better time to do it.

She really is a perfect match for me, she loves wildlife, loves the outdoors, love life, and best of all loves Juicy Fruit!

So, it was evening, the park was empty (I am glad it was), the sun had not gone down yet, (was in mid-june I finnally got the nerve to do this), and I had asked her the day prior to meet me in the park because I had some plans for us. I was waiting paitently for her (but knew if she came late it would ruin my plans!).

It seems as if luck was on my side, she arrived 20 minutes or so before sunset. Yep, you guessed it, I was going for a sunset proposal. So a minute or so after she arrives, I say, lets head out. It kind of caught her off guard, I usually don't leave the office so quickly on the days I ask her to swing by after work.

She asked me "So what do you have in store for me today?" I told her to hop in my Jeep and lets go for a ride, the sun still had a bit to go by the time I got to the spot. Just driving up to the clearing knowing what I was about to do was nerve wrecking.

So I hop out of the Jeep, open up the back, pull out a cooler that has been holding the food I had prepared mid-day in the tiny kitchen we have back at the office. I was glad to see that the food had held its heat in the cooler.

She was happy to see some food, as I knew she was starving, I grabbed a blanket from the back of the Jeep, walked up a bit farther on the ledge, placed the cooler on the ground and laid out the blanket. She immediately plopped down on it and started staring off towards the sun, she loves watching the sunset, she had absolutely no clue what I was about to do.

To be continued....

Wow!

Sorry to those (3) people who read my blog. Patrolling the parks and making sure I do more then my part to keep my little corner of the planet safe, clean and just an overall enjoyable place to spend a vacation, catch a few fish, and just ultimately experience the utter bliss of nature and pure beauty of the wilderness that I get to experience every day.

On a slower day recently I went down to one of my more less known about scenic overlooks. As I pull in to the lot hoping to enjoy an early evening snack while reflecting upon the sunset, but instead I notice a car. A white one, but this one was a little different from the rest of the cars in the park today...

I got out of my patrol vehicle, and walked up to the suspicious vehicle, as I am walking up to the vehicle I notice that all the windows are fogged up and I cannot see in the vehicle. So as I am walking up a foot cuts through the steam on the windows and I hear a very enthusiastic moan.

At this point I start to chuckle to myself this is going to be interesting. I remove my Flashlight from my belt and tap on the window while saying "Park Ranger, Please get decent and step out of the vehicle".

I hear the loudest scream that I have ever heard in my life, which scares her lover (I soon find out to be her husband) and they begin to scramble for clothes. In a bit of a panic I hear the girl whispering “What do we Do, What do we Do?”. All of a sudden the door opens, and the girl falls out of the vehicle laughing, with embarrassment, and is blushing like you would not imagine (she was the same color as a tomato). And to be honest I was blushing intensively myself because I have never encountered anything like this before.

So we talk for a few minutes and it is clear that these two are celebrating their honeymoon. They had claimed that they were just married by a judge earlier in the day, in the court house right next to the park that I work in. As fate would have it, I knew the judge they got married by, he happens to be my father's best friend.

I walk back over to my truck and grab my cell phone to give him a call to see if its the truth. And yes, they really were telling the truth.

I pretty much go along my way after giving them a friendly warning.

It makes me happy that people think the park and come here to celebrate occasions that are joyous like this (well...not exactly like this), and are not abusing the park, for massive intake of alcohol, and leaving tons of trash behind.

I really do wish that newly wed couple the best.

Juicy Fruiter

Same crap, different package...

My shift ended not too long ago, the whole day was a good, relaxing, no troubles, until...

Well, of course, no day can end without some sort of nuisance. An hour before my shift is done, as I am patrolling my last bit of area, before returning and filing paperwork, I come up to a very familiar car.

I must note that I do not have any law enforcement powers (not yet at least!), so anytime someone is 'breaking the law' I need to radio for the 'park police' as I call them. That being said, I recognized the vehicle as belonging to a group of teenagers that are always hanging out in the park.

Two times have I caught them drinking in the park (thats a double problem for the park, triple for me since really can't do much to minors). Anyhow, I pulled up next to them and they were all enjoying some coca-cola....refreshing? A bit too refreshing if you ask me. I stepped out of my truck and walked up them and asked what they were doing here so late. Replies 'Nothing', 'Just hanging out'.

I could smell the alcohol on one of the boy's breath.

I picked up one of the cans that was on the floor (yes, add littering to that) and smelled it, it wreaked of alcohol. What they were doing was dumping out half of the can of soda, and adding alcohol to it, and drinking it straight out of the can. I just looked at them and laughed, does it really look like I was born yesterday?

These aren't bad kids, they knew they were caught and pretty much admitted to it. They didn't try running, nothing of that sort. What bugs me is, where are they getting the liquor from? Who is supplying it to them in the first place?

Well anyhow, I called the park police and they took over from there. All that ever happens to these kid is either, straight released to their parents, or held in juvenile for a few hours until their parents get them. That's it, I wouldn't even call that a slap on the hands.

I am only 28 years old, I am not too far off from these guys, but when I was their age, I didn't do stuff like this, I had fun yes, but I didn't need to break the law to do it.

Anyhow I am ranting now, I'll be very upset to say the least if I catch them again.

Stocks? I don't know...

Today a friend of mine confronted me about investing in some penny stocks.....what?

He is a broker in some firm, whatever. Being a park ranger he knows I am big for the environment and all that good stuff, and knows I have some extra cash saved up that said I wanted to invest in something (I've been very vague). ANYWAY, he goes on and tells me about one very specific stock..this company that creates a special type of tree; that regrows from the stump when cut, and grows at a very fast rate, great for the environment to say the least.

I'm not very good with stocks...well, I should say I don't know anything about them. But I looked at the stock today, and the damn thing is up 166%! I might buy a thousand shares (only about $100 bucks or so) and see how it turns out. Yes, I know I can lose all my investment, but wow, looks damn good!

Any stock people out there can assist me? Check the details of it here. It just totally disgusts me to think about it.

About a week ago, I drove up to this black trash bag that had a racoon digging in it. If that isn't bad enough, what is totally disgusting is the TYPE of trash that was being discarded, it was some kind of rotten meat, some nasty mess, I cant even begin to describe it, the smell was horrid.

Anyhow, it was pretty late in the evening, and one of my fellow rangers radioed me about this van driving through the park which looked very suspicious to say the least. I hopped in my truck and headed over there. Incredibly enough by the time I got there, the van was pulled over on the grass, and the driver was gone. My two buddies waited along side me for a few minutes til the driver came back..nothing in hand...we already knew what we was doing, just by the stench coming off of him.

I walked back the way he came and saw the bags of trash, and that damned horrid smell. We immediately called the park police, who in turn searched the van and found more bags of trash.

Yep Yep!
